Kelenföld Power Station

This control room is built in 1927. Unfortunately Word War 2 was a threat to it. The large, oval roof may have been an easy bombing target. The little white house in the middle was a shelter for employees in case of bombardment.

The power plant, in its glory days, delivered over 60% energy in Budapest. It was 4% of total energy production in Hungary. Built in 1914, many times developed and rebuilt. Finally closed in 2007.
