Salva Matter
Salve Mater was once a psychiatric institution for women. The institution was located in a huge park of 35 hectares. Salve Mater became one of the largest psychiatric institutions in Flanders. The main building was home to the Sisters administration and convent until 1996. In 2003, The other buildings on the domain have all been emptied step by step, and the last patients left the domain in 2007.
